How Does it Work?
You can rest easy knowing that your readers will notice your message, not your mistakes. Top editors work with the author to take a good book and turn it into a first-class bestseller by adding the professional finish that you and your readers expect.

Editors will read your manuscript and in accordance with The Chicago Manual of Style, the industry standard manual that sets accepted rules and practices for writing, suggest all necessary adjustments.

*In order to maintain an “across the board” standard, a manuscript page is defined as: 330 words, 1” margins, 12 pt font, and double spaced.

How Long Does It Take?
Victory Graphics and Media will use reasonable efforts to return all copyedited manuscripts to the author within 45 days of submission.

Occasionally, more time may be needed, such as for manuscripts with 90,000-plus words or English as a Second Language (ESL) manuscripts.
On a typical schedule, this means your book will be edited, published, and printable within 120 days.

What Services Are Offered?

Editorial Critique:  An editor will review your manuscript, providing feedback that will allow you to update your script and have the knowledge that your book is up to the standards of any traditionally published work.

The editor will provide additional recommendations with regard to the level of edit that the manuscript could benefit from; proofread, copyedit, or substantial edit. These services truly add a professional touch to your manuscript.

Remember, that everything our editors recommend are based solely upon their opinions and expertise—you may follow their comments to the letter, incorporate some, or reject them all. It’s your work and your decision.
Cost: Flat fee of $99

Proofread:  For your book to be read and understood, you need to ensure that you use clear and correct language. Incorrect grammar and punctuation, pesky typos, and spelling mistakes can detract from the overall purpose of your book.

Proofreading covers the basics: spelling, grammatical usage, composition, and minor inconsistencies. Essentially, this means finding the mistake so you are not embarrassed.
Cost: $.01 per word

Copyedit:  Copyediting is one of the most important services that can be utilized. Copyediting takes your book to the next level and adds an industry standard appearance to the content. Keep in mind, even the best copyeditor may miss a few things, so it is important that you give your manuscript a careful read after copyedit as well.

In addition to what is required to be done in proofreading, this covers more detail, like eliminating wordiness, repetition, making suggestions to improve clarity and quality of language, making formatting consistent, and correcting inconsistencies on a larger scale. Consistency is the major goal!

The editor queries the author, work is suggested by the editor, with major rewriting performed by the author and minor rewording completed by the editor.

Please Note: Copyedit does not include Scripture or endnote checks, nor checking the accuracy of Greek, Hebrew, or any other foreign language text. Author is responsible for checking the accuracy of all Scripture verses, endnotes, and foreign language text before submission.
Cost: $.02 per word

Final Edit:  The design and layout of a book is never 100% perfect, look at any traditionally published book in the marketplace. However, we try to get as close as possible. This service provides for another “set of eyes” to review the content in its book form.

Our editors will read the composed pages looking for additional editorial mistakes, bad breaks, mis-formatted text and design elements, and many other small errors that can affect the readability of your book so you can make adjustments at the next printing.
Cost: $.01 per word

Transcription:  Recorded messages submitted on cassette are transcribed to a computer document. No editing provided at this stage. Media supported: cassettes, cds, .mp3, .wav, DVDs, and VHS.

Level 1 - $1.50 per minute
	Single person
	One-on-one interview
Level 2 - $2.00 per minute
	Any interviews with a total of 3 people
	Any recording with significant noise in the background
	Any audio that has poor quality (i.e. difficult to hear voices, poor recording, etc.)
	Light to moderate accents
Level 3 - $3.00 per minute
	Any audio with 4 or more speakers
	Presentations dealing with highly scientific terminology
	Very thick accents

Cost is calculated on a level and recorded per minute basis.

Data Entry:  Printed or typed text (on paper) is entered into an electronic document and sent to you for review and comparison to your original notes. No editing is done at this stage, but additional editorial services may be purchased.
Cost: 2.00 per page

Marketing Cover Copy:  The cover of your book is one of the most important sales tools you have to “hook” potential buyers. The words used on the cover of a book are the keys to closing your sale. Our marketing staff will provide complete development and writing services for both your back cover copy and your author biography.
Cost: Flat fee $99

Copyrights:  As part of our standard pricing in each of our publishing packages we offer the service of registering your book with the United States Copyright Office. Our staff will fill out the necessary forms through the Library of Congress and send them on to you. You simply sign where indicated and mail in the copies of your work along with the filing fee. Our staff is on hand to alleviate any concerns you have with the process.

How Much Does It Cost?
We offer affordable editing services. To find out the cost for the services you would like to add, insert the "word count" of your manuscript in the box below, enter the cost of the service you would like to add in the appropriate box, and the final cost will automatically be calculated for you.

For example: to add a copyedit service to a manuscript that is 90,000 words the cost would be 1.5 (.015) cents a word.

English as a Second Language (ESL):
Is English your second language? Has your book been translated? If so, you must choose ESL copyedit service. Quick-Turn service not available for ESL books. ESL books will take more time to copyedit.
